Ether 12: 5-6

 

How have you been blessed by miracles because of exercising faith in Jesus Christ?

"5 And it came to pass that Ether did prophesy great and marvelous things unto the people, which they did not believe, because they saw them not.

6 And now, I, Moroni, would speak somewhat concerning these things; I would show unto the world that faith is things which are hoped for and not seen; wherefore, dispute not because ye see not, for ye receive no witness until after the trial of your faith." (Ether 12: 5-6)

And here's the beginning part of the commentary entitled: "Faith in Jesus Christ can lead to miracles." : 

It’s common today, as it was in Ether’s day, for people to want to see evidence before believing in God and His power. What do you learn from Ether 12:5–6 about this idea?

People do have the tendency to choose to believe only after seeing. If I choose to believe only after seeing, I have no faith at all. Living without faith sounds like living miserably. That's not the kind of life I signed up for before I came down here on earth. I'm here to exercise my faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and as I choose to do so I'm able to find joy in whatever circumstances I find myself in because my faith in Jesus Christ does lead to miracles.
