Doctrine and Covenants 135: 3

How has your life been blessed because of the restored truths that came through the Prophet Joseph Smith?

"3 Joseph Smith, the Prophet and Seer of the Lord, has done more, save Jesus only, for the salvation of men in this world, than any other man that ever lived in it. In the short space of twenty years, he has brought forth the Book of Mormon, which he translated by the gift and power of God, and has been the means of publishing it on two continents; has sent the fulness of the everlasting gospel, which it contained, to the four quarters of the earth; has brought forth the revelations and commandments which compose this book of Doctrine and Covenants, and many other wise documents and instructions for the benefit of the children of men; gathered many thousands of the Latter-day Saints, founded a great city, and left a fame and name that cannot be slain. He lived great, and he died great in the eyes of God and his people; and like most of the Lord’s anointed in ancient times, has sealed his mission and his works with his own blood; and so has his brother Hyrum. In life they were not divided, and in death they were not separated!" (Doctrine and Covenants 135: 3) 

And here's the beginning part of the commentary entitled: "Joseph Smith was a prophet and witness of Jesus Christ." : 

"Doctrine and Covenants 135:3 names some of the things Joseph Smith accomplished “in the short space of twenty years.” How have these things affected you and your relationship with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ? Because of what the Lord did through Joseph Smith, I've been able to come to know the true nature of God, and I'm able to know myself--where I came from before I came here in this earthly life, why I am here, and where I am going after this life is over. How comforting it is to know that families are forever. I will be able to see and be with my own father again after this earthly existence. And I'm doing all I can to be able to make that happen. I want to be together with my own family forever. And I want to go back to my Heavenly Father's kingdom. I'm so grateful for my Savior's Atonement for making it possible for me to return to my Heavenly Father's presence and be with Him again and with my own earthly family for eternity. My life is full of meaning because I'm striving to return to God's kingdom. My life has direction and I know that I am an eternal being, a daughter of God--I am going through this experience as a human being because my Heavenly Father wants me to progress to become more like Him. I wonder what will the direction of my life be or if my life has a direction at all if the truths of the gospel were not restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith. I would be a totally different person without all these truths in my life. I'm so grateful for the Prophet Joseph Smith's courage to share his testimony about his vision of the Father and the Son, and for fulfilling his mission here on earth. I know He is called of God. The truths of the gospel restored through Him have been and continually making a difference in my life. I'm so grateful for the abundance of blessings I am able to enjoy because of knowing these truths and because of striving to align my life with them. I know my Savior Jesus Christ lives, and as I look unto Him more than ever before He is guiding me every step of the way to reach my full potential as a daughter of God.
