Doctrine and Covenants 78: 17-18; Mosiah 3: 19

In what tender and personal ways have you felt Heavenly Father gently leading you along your path as His beloved child?

"17 Verily, verily, I say unto you, ye are little children, and ye have not as yet understood how great blessings the Father hath in his own hands and prepared for you;

18 And ye cannot bear all things now; nevertheless, be of good cheer, for I will lead you along. The kingdom is yours and the blessings thereof are yours, and the riches of eternity are yours." (Doctrine and Covenants 78: 17-18)

"19 For the natural man is an enemy to God, and has been from the fall of Adam, and will be, forever and ever, unless he yields to the enticings of the Holy Spirit, and putteth off the natural man and becometh a saint through the atonement of Christ the Lord, and becometh as a childsubmissive, meek, humble, patient, full of love, willing to submit to all things which the Lord seeth fit to inflict upon him, even as a child doth submit to his father." (Mosiah 3: 19)

And here's the commentary entitled: "The Lord will lead me along."

"Why do you think the Lord sometimes calls His followers “little children”? (Doctrine and Covenants 78:17). When have you felt like a little child, perhaps because of something you “have not as yet understood” or “cannot bear”? (verses 17–18). What do you find in these verses that can help you “be of good cheer” (verse 18) in such times? Consider finding a picture of yourself when you were a child, and ponder how you have grown spiritually since then. Or think of something that was hard for you when you were young but is easier now. In what ways does Heavenly Father still want you to be like a child? (see Mosiah 3:19). How is He “[leading] you along”?"

There was a time when there's something that it was really so difficult for me to bear and as I prayed and prayed so hard, eventually my eyes of understanding was opened, and I was able to bear what I wasn't able to before. The Lord's assurance in His words, "I will lead you along" is what I found in these verses that can help me "be of good cheer" when I face a similar trial and I would be feeling like a little child. Among the many things that was hard for me when I was young but is easier now is getting my message across. My communication skills have been improving above and beyond. From someone who wanted others to guess what I was thinking and give me what I wanted, I am now able to speak my mind and get others to follow my directions. Even though I've been growing in different aspects of my life and been able to do many things on my own without help from others, unlike when I was still a little child, Heavenly Father still wants me to be like a child in terms of my attitude and behavior towards Him.
