Doctrine and Covenants 67: 1-9; 68: 3-6

How have you been blessed by being able to speak by the power of the Holy Ghost?

"Behold and hearken, O ye elders of my church, who have assembled yourselves together, whose prayers I have heard, and whose hearts I know, and whose desires have come up before me.

Behold and lo, mine eyes are upon you, and the heavens and the earth are in mine hands, and the riches of eternity are mine to give.

Ye endeavored to believe that ye should receive the blessing which was offered unto you; but behold, verily I say unto you there were fears in your hearts, and verily this is the reason that ye did not receive.

And now I, the Lord, give unto you a testimony of the truth of these commandments which are lying before you.

Your eyes have been upon my servant Joseph Smith, Jun., and his language you have known, and his imperfections you have known; and you have sought in your hearts knowledge that you might express beyond his language; this you also know.

Now, seek ye out of the Book of Commandments, even the least that is among them, and appoint him that is the most wise among you;

Or, if there be any among you that shall make one like unto it, then ye are justified in saying that ye do not know that they are true;

But if ye cannot make one like unto it, ye are under condemnation if ye do not bear record that they are true.

For ye know that there is no unrighteousness in them, and that which is righteous cometh down from above, from the Father of lights." (Doctrine and Covenants 67: 1-9)

"And this is the ensample unto them, that they shall speak as they are moved upon by the Holy Ghost.

And whatsoever they shall speak when moved upon by the Holy Ghost shall be scripture, shall be the will of the Lord, shall be the mind of the Lord, shall be the word of the Lord, shall be the voice of the Lord, and the power of God unto salvation.

Behold, this is the promise of the Lord unto you, O ye my servants.

Wherefore, be of good cheer, and do not fear, for I the Lord am with you, and will stand by you; and ye shall bear record of me, even Jesus Christ, that I am the Son of the living God, that I was, that I am, and that I am to come." (Doctrine and Covenants 68: 3-6)

And here's the commentary entitled: "The Lord’s servants speak His will when moved upon by the Holy Ghost." :

"The decision to publish the revelations received by Joseph Smith seems like an easy one, but some early Church leaders weren’t sure it was a good idea. One concern had to do with imperfections in the way Joseph Smith wrote the revelations. The revelation in section 67 came in response to that concern. What do you learn about the Lord’s prophets and revelation from verses 1–9? What additional insights do you gain from 68:3–6?

How have you come to know for yourself that the revelations God gives His servants are true? You might also ponder experiences when you felt the Lord was speaking to you through one of His servants (see Doctrine and Covenants 68:4). When have you felt “moved upon by the Holy Ghost” (verse 3) to say something? How did the Lord “stand by you”? (verse 6).

Before the Book of Commandments was printed, several Church leaders signed a written testimony that the revelations in the book are true. To see a copy of their testimony, see “Testimony, circa 2 November 1831,” Revelation Book 1, 121, josephsmithpapers.org."

I have come to know for myself that the revelations God gives His servants are true because they make so much sense to me.

During a junior primary class I was in a few weeks ago, where I was one of the adults besides the teacher, I felt "moved by the Holy Ghost" to share my story of the time when I was eight and my family's house's roof got blown away because of the typhoon, and then my family moved to the neighbor's house where we stayed for about two weeks. We were talking about the "Law of Consecration" and the teacher asked our learners if they would allow people to stay in their house. I shared how our neighbors would stay in our house during a typhoon because their houses' roofs would get blown away. And then the time came, when my baby brother was just 7 days old and I was 8 years old when our house's roof got blown away by a typhoon as well. My story made one of the learners realize that when we help other people in times of need, they will also help us when we need help ourselves.

The Lord did stand by me during the time when I was having a meeting with the big bosses at work around the beginning of second semester the past school year. I was able to say exactly the right words during that meeting which made my bosses decide to move me to my teaching position at the moment. I didn't know exactly what would happen in that meeting and the Lord did inspire me and put into my mouth what I should say. And now I'm in the best working environment ever, after working in the same school for over 19 years now.
