Doctrine and Covenants 103: 12; 1 Nephi 11: 16-17; Alma 7: 11-12; Doctrine and Covenants 6: 33-36; 84: 88; 101: 35-36

What blessings are you receiving after going through your trials of faith?

"12 For after much tribulation, as I have said unto you in a former commandment, cometh the blessing." (Doctrine and Covenants 103: 12)

"16 And he said unto me: Knowest thou the condescension of God?

17 And I said unto him: I know that he loveth his children; nevertheless, I do not know the meaning of all things." (1 Nephi 11: 16-17)

"11 And he shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind; and this that the word might be fulfilled which saith he will take upon him the pains and the sicknesses of his people.

12 And he will take upon him death, that he may loose the bands of death which bind his people; and he will take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to succor his people according to their infirmities." (Alma 7: 11-12)

"33 Fear not to do good, my sons, for whatsoever ye sow, that shall ye also reap; therefore, if ye sow good ye shall also reap good for your reward.

34 Therefore, fear not, little flock; do good; let earth and hell combine against you, for if ye are built upon my rock, they cannot prevail.

35 Behold, I do not condemn you; go your ways and sin no more; perform with soberness the work which I have commanded you.

36 Look unto me in every thoughtdoubt not, fear not." (Doctrine and Covenants 6: 33-36)

"88 And whoso receiveth you, there I will be also, for I will go before your face. I will be on your right hand and on your left, and my Spirit shall be in your hearts, and mine angels round about you, to bear you up." (Doctrine and Covenants 84: 88)

"35 And all they who suffer persecution for my name, and endure in faith, though they are called to lay down their lives for my sake yet shall they partake of all this glory.

36 Wherefore, fear not even unto death; for in this world your joy is not full, but in me your joy is full." (Doctrine and Covenants 101: 35-36)

And here's the end part of the commentary entitled: "Blessings come after trials of faith." :

"Then you might think about a more modern example of a trial like Zion’s Camp—such as a missionary who works hard, but no one joins the Church because of his or her efforts. Based on what you’ve studied, how would you help that missionary see that his or her mission was still successful?

How has the Lord blessed you “after much tribulation”? (Doctrine and Covenants 103:12).

When I served my full-time mission myself, I did what I could and yet I got sick and was hospitalized toward the end of my mission term. I got asked if I wanted to be released medically. I said I wanted to go back to the mission field after my 9-days hospitalization because I wanted to complete my 18 months mission term. I'm grateful I was given the opportunity to return to my mission area and even celebrated my 22nd birthday there with my fellow missionaries. And I was able to complete my mission term. Completing my mission term with honor means a lot to me. Full-time mission for 18 months is like going through life's journey here on earth. There were a lot of challenges and trials or tribulations that I went through during my full-time mission just as there are challenges, and trials or tribulations as we journey in this earthly life. Despite those difficulties in my mission, I kept going until I finished my mission term. I did not give up. I'm doing the same as I go through the challenges and tribulations in this earthly life. I'm not giving. up as well. I keep on doing what I can. I'm keeping my faith in the Lord. I know the Lord is helping me as I turn to Him. He did save my life from typhoid fever when I was on my mission. And I was able go complete my mission term. He is also protecting me from everything that could harm me so that I can complete my mission in this earthly life. He's been protecting my health as I'm able to take care of myself physically better by being able to morefully live the Word of Wisdom. Just as He protected those members of the Zion Camp from being attacked by the mob through sending a storm, the Lord has been protecting me spiritually from being influenced and destroyed by philosophies of men which are prevalent now in the world.
