How have you been blessed by following Christ despite opposition?
"Moroni writes for the benefit of the Lamanites—The Nephites who will not deny Christ are put to death. About A.D. 401–21.
1 Now I, Moroni, after having made an end of abridging the account of the people of Jared, I had supposed not to have written more, but I have not as yet perished; and I make not myself known to the Lamanites lest they should destroy me.
2 For behold, their wars are exceedingly fierce among themselves; and because of their hatred they put to death every Nephite that will not deny the Christ.
3 And I, Moroni, will not deny the Christ; wherefore, I wander whithersoever I can for the safety of mine own life.
4 Wherefore, I write a few more things, contrary to that which I had supposed; for I had supposed not to have written any more; but I write a few more things, that perhaps they may be of worth unto my brethren, the Lamanites, in some future day, according to the will of the Lord." (Moroni 1)
And here's the commentary entitled: "I can follow Jesus Christ despite opposition." :
"As you read Moroni 1, what inspires you about Moroni’s faithfulness to the Lord and to his calling? What are some ways a person might “deny the Christ”? (Moroni 1:2–3). Ponder how you can be faithful to Jesus Christ, even when you face trials and opposition."
Moroni risked his own life in order to continue writing things which are of worth unto his brethren, the Lamanites, and unto us. This is so inspiring for me. This shows Moroni's faithfulness to the Lord and to his calling indeed. I can be more faithful to Jesus Christ as well, even when I face trials and opposition, by remembering that He is the Only Begotten Son of God, the only perfect being who ever lived here on earth. So I don't expect others to be perfect as He is. Others are all subject to make mistakes. So when others make choices which affect me and there's nothing I could do about it, I'll just leave it to the Lord to judge them.
