What do you learn from Adam and Eve’s experience with nakedness and clothing?
"13 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they had been naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves aprons.
14 And they heard the voice of the Lord God, as they were walking in the garden, in the cool of the day; and Adam and his wife went to hide themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden.
15 And I, the Lord God, called unto Adam, and said unto him: Where goest thou?
16 And he said: I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I beheld that I was naked, and I hid myself.
27 Unto Adam, and also unto his wife, did I, the Lord God, make coats of skins, and clothed them." (Moses 4:13–16, 27)
"9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;
13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?
14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
15 Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them." (Revelation 7:9, 13–15)
"14 Wherefore, we shall have a perfect knowledge of all our guilt, and our uncleanness, and our nakedness; and the righteous shall have a perfect knowledge of their enjoyment, and their righteousness, being clothed with purity, yea, even with the robe of righteousness." (2 Nephi 9:14)
"22 And we ask thee, Holy Father, that thy servants may go forth from this house armed with thy power, and that thy name may be upon them, and thy glory be round about them, and thine angels have charge over them;
23 And from this place they may bear exceedingly great and glorious tidings, in truth, unto the ends of the earth, that they may know that this is thy work, and that thou hast put forth thy hand, to fulfil that which thou hast spoken by the mouths of the prophets, concerning the last days.
24 We ask thee, Holy Father, to establish the people that shall worship, and honorably hold a name and standing in this thy house, to all generations and for eternity;
25 That no weapon formed against them shall prosper; that he who diggeth a pit for them shall fall into the same himself;
26 That no combination of wickedness shall have power to rise up and prevail over thy people upon whom thy name shall be put in this house;
76 That our garments may be pure, that we may be clothed upon with robes of righteousness, with palms in our hands, and crowns of glory upon our heads, and reap eternal joy for all our sufferings." (Doctrine and Covenants 109:22–26, 76)
And here's the commentary entitled: “I, the Lord God … clothed them.” :
"After partaking of the forbidden fruit, Adam and Eve tried to cover their own nakedness. Later, the Lord offered to clothe them. As you read Moses 4:13–16, 27, consider the following:
Ponder what nakedness and clothing can represent in the scriptures (see, for example, Revelation 7:9, 13–15; 2 Nephi 9:14; Doctrine and Covenants 109:22–26, 76). What do you learn from Adam and Eve’s experience with nakedness and clothing?
If you have been endowed in the temple, consider what Adam and Eve might say to you about the significance of your temple garment and what it represents.

From Adam and Eve's experience with nakedness and clothing, I learned that nakedness is synonymous with committing sins. There is the tendency to want to hide after committing a sin, just as Adam and Eve wanted to hide after they discovered their nakedness. A person wouldn't want to be exposed while being naked, just as people wouldn't want their sins to be exposed. So in the scriptures, nakedness can represent committing a sin, and covering nakedness with clothing, as God offered to Adam and Eve, can represent receiving forgiveness that God offers. So, through God's grace, the person gets transformed from being naked to being clothed with purity and righteousness.
As we turn to the Lord in Faith, whatever sins we have committed and troubles we go through, He transforms our lives so that we are able to find peace and joy.
