How have you felt when you found the courage to stand for Jesus Christ even when you stand alone?
"14 Therefore sent he thither horses, and chariots, and a great host: and they came by night, and compassed the city about.
15 And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do?
16 And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.
17 And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha." (2 Kings 6: 14-17)
And here's the ending part of the commentary entitled: "I can stand for Jesus Christ, even when I stand alone." :
"When have you felt like you were standing alone in defense of the Savior and His gospel? How did He help you feel He was with you? As you ponder this, you could read the account of Elisha and his young servant in 2 Kings 6:14–17. What inspires you about this account?
You could also search pages 31–33 of For the Strength of Youth: A Guide for Making Choices to find phrases that give you courage to defend the truth. Or you could do the same in the lyrics of a hymn like “Do What Is Right” or “Let Us All Press On” (Hymns, nos. 237, 243).
How will you apply what you learned from Abinadi? The video “Dare to Stand Alone” (Gospel Library) portrays situations in which you can stand for Christ and His gospel. What other examples can you think of?

What inspires me about the account of Elisha and his young servant is that Elisha prayed so that the young servant could see the horses and chariots of fire surrounding Elisha. If I were the young servant, I would be really comforted as I see that truly "they that be with us are more than they that be with them" as my master said.
"If the Lord is with me, who can be against me?" These are the words that comfort me whenever I feel threatened--I felt this at work a number of times. I felt this just recently. I was more bold than ever in standing for the right during the past school year. And I felt that because of my boldness, my immediate head wouldn't want me to continue working under her leadership anymore. And during those times I would pray for God's protection so I could keep my job. When my signing of contract got delayed, I felt everything was ok. The Lord was in charge and watching over me. So, my immediate head still allowed to renew my contract for a whole year. And now I got moved from teaching 2nd graders to teaching nursery under the Kindergarten level. And it looks like this move is a blessing in disguise.
