What does it mean to you to be a child of God?
"26 And a prophet of the Lord have they slain; yea, a chosen man of God, who told them of their wickedness and abominations, and prophesied of many things which are to come, yea, even the coming of Christ.
27 And because he said unto them that Christ was the God, the Father of all things, and said that he should take upon him the image of man, and it should be the image after which man was created in the beginning; or in other words, he said that man was created after the image of God, and that God should come down among the children of men, and take upon him flesh and blood, and go forth upon the face of the earth—" (Mosiah 7: 26-27)
And here's the commentary entitled: "I was created “after the image of God.” :
"In Mosiah 7:26–27, Limhi explained some of the truths taught by Abinadi. What truths can you identify in these verses? How do these truths affect the way you see God and yourself?

Each of us is a child of God--we are literally sons and daughters of God, our Heavenly Father in spirit. And He sent His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ to come down here on earth and fulfill His mission--His infinite Atonement for all of us. These are the truths we can identify in these verses.
God, my Heavenly Father loves me so much. He sacrificed His Only Begotten Son for me. My Savior Jesus Christ suffered for me. He carried all my pains, my infirmities, and all my sorrows. He said, "Be of good cheer. I have overcome the world." He already rose above all the challenges we're facing in this earthly life. He's been there--whatever circumstance we're going through. He can relate to us. He feels us. How comforting it is to know this.
