How are you blessed when you keep your promises?
"9 Yea, and are willing to mourn with those that mourn; yea, and comfort those that stand in need of comfort, and to stand as witnesses of God at all times and in all things, and in all places that ye may be in, even until death, that ye may be redeemed of God, and be numbered with those of the first resurrection, that ye may have eternal life—" (Mosiah 18: 9)
"14 And after Alma had said these words, both Alma and Helam were buried in the water; and they arose and came forth out of the water rejoicing, being filled with the Spirit." (Mosiah 18: 14)
And here's the last part of the commentary entitled: "When I am baptized, I make a covenant with God." :
"What does it mean to you to “stand as [a witness] of God”? (verse 9).
How does keeping your baptismal covenant help you be “filled with the Spirit”? (Mosiah 18:14). How does the Spirit help you keep your covenant?
Answering these questions might lead you to ponder why covenants and ordinances are important to God. You could find insights in Elder Gerrit W. Gong’s message “Covenant Belonging” (Ensign or Liahona, Nov. 2019, 80–83) or President Jean B. Bingham’s message “Covenants with God Strengthen, Protect, and Prepare Us for Eternal Glory” (Liahona, May 2022, 66–69). Why are you grateful for your covenants? What are you doing to keep your promises?

Standing as a witness of God to me means I am doing all I can to align my thoughts, words, and deeds with God's will so that I am able to represent Him the way He wants me to.
When I am keeping my baptismal covenant, it's easier for me to be filled with the Spirit because my vessel is worthy for the Spirit to dwell in. Through the Spirit, I am able to receive specific guidance and instructions to be able to keep the covenant I made with God through baptism and when I entered the temple.
